Cycle repair service in the New Forest

Like any mechanical item, regular maintenance of your bike will mean that it is enjoyable and safe to ride and will last longer.

At our brand new, purpose built Cycle Centre in Burley, with it’s fully equipped workshop, our Cytech qualified technicians can deal with all your repairs and servicing requirements.

If you are in a hurry, we’ll do our best to fix your bike while you wait, if it’s a straightforward repair.

Our labour rate is a very competitive £29 per hour and we have a fixed price menu for all repairs, please call us on 01425 403584 for a quote.

As an example, a simple tube replacement on a Mountain Bike costs just £4 labour (plus standard tube at £4.49 (that’s 10% cheaper than Halfords!) and the adjustment of the front or rear gear derailleur on an MTB is only £6.

Servicing charges are as follows:

Standard service – £29 + parts

A basic overhaul which, if carried out regularly, will enable most well maintained bikes to continue to give reliable service

Frame & forks wiped down and checked for alignment
Headset checked for free movement and adjusted if required
Bottom Bracket checked for free movement and adjusted if required
Allen bolts checked and tightened to correct torque
External adjustment of all bearings
Lubrication of chain, mechs & cables
Adjustment of brakes and gears
Wheel hubs and rims checked for damage and wear
Pump and inspect tyres for wear and tear
Safety check (all fittings / mudguards / racks etc. are securely fastened)
Brakes checked for effective operation and adjusted

* Does not include parts or servicing of suspension and hydraulic brakes

Full service £79 plus parts

The full service offers you a complete and thorough checkover and will mean that your bike is returned to a condition as close to new as possible.

Bike stripped down to the bare frame, cleaned and checked for alignment and damage. All threads cleaned and checked.

Hubs disassembled, cleaned, inspected, then rebuilt with fresh grease and refitted
Bottom Bracket removed, cleaned, inspected, then rebuilt or replaced as required, with fresh grease and refitted
Headset removed, inspected, then rebuilt or replaced as required.
All other fittings removed, checked for wear, cleaned and re-lubricated
Brake blocks / disc pads checked and replaced if required (Parts extra)
Replacement of any other worn parts if required (Parts Extra)
Safety check (all ancillary fittings)
All cables replaced, inner and outer.
Chain cleaned and lubricated, gears set up

Front suspensions fork and / or rear shock service

Due to the variation in fork and rear shock systems, please phone us on 01425 403584 for a quote for servicing to your requirements.

Child’s bike service (up to and including 20″ wheel bikes)

A standard safety check and service for any child bike up to a 20″ wheel is £20.

Mobile Repairs

If you can’t get your bike to us, we will do our best to visit you and repair it at your convenience at home, or at the very least collect it, repair it and return it to you. …and if you’re bringing your own bikes to the forest

We now offer a call out service if you suffer a breakdown while out in the forest with your own bikes. If we can repair it on the spot we will, or we’ll recover you to our cycle centre to complete the repair and get you on your way again.

There is a minimum call out fee of £5, there may be an additional charge depending on your distance from our cycle centre. Parts will be costed at normal RRP and we will try to quote your over the phone if possible.
