Highcroft is an elegant country house built in the early 1900s its grounds being initially planted and landscaped by the famous horticulturalist Gertrude Jekyll. It is situated in a quiet setting although only being a short walk to Burley through beautiful woodland. There is direct access to forest paths and tracks from either the rear or the front of the property where one can walk for miles in a wonderland of trees, wildlife and open countryside. Just 400 yards from our Cycle Centre, Burley Manor is the jewel in the crown of New Forest Hotels and throughout its long history, it has enjoyed many regal connections. Parts of the estate are said to have been laid out in Saxon times and must have existed before the Domesday Book was compiled in 1086. Later, for nearly 200 years, Burley was a Royal Manor.
The current building was erected in 1852, with the restaurant and bedroom wing being added some 80 years later. During World War Two, the hotel was requisitioned and used as a military headquarters. During the past 25 years the baronial-style hotel has been considerably upgraded and refurbished, to become the beautiful New Forest hotel it is today.

Stylish boutique baby friendly bolthole located on a quiet lane in the heart of the forest. Twin Cottage is luxury self catering available for rental all year round for short and long breaks. The cottage is fully equipped for the smaller guest with a playroom off the kitchen. We don’t just stop with a highchair and travel cot when it comes to baby/toddler gear, Twin Cottage has everything you need from baby blenders, sterliser and monitors to plenty of toys, trike, scooter etc to keep the little ones occupied.
